This privacy and cookie statement applies to the website www.ftl.nl (hereinafter referred to as “the Website”).

In this statement, we explain which personal data KKF B.V. (operating under the trade name Franssen Tolboom), located at IJdok 21, 1013 MM Amsterdam, and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under no. 56490879 (hereinafter: “FTL,” “we,” or “us”), processes from visitors of the Website (hereinafter: “you” and “your personal data”).

FTL respects the privacy of its customers and Website visitors. This privacy and cookie statement explains how we use the personal data collected about you via the Website, how we use cookies, and what rights you have regarding your personal data. This privacy and cookie statement does not apply to how we handle client files.


1. General

FTL respects your personal data and ensures that the personal information provided to us or otherwise obtained is treated confidentially. Personal data includes any information about a person. Information that indirectly relates to someone is also considered personal data. The following fulfills the information obligation under the GDPR to the data subject(s) whose personal data is processed by FTL.


2. Data Controller and Communication

FTL processes personal data to offer services, improve service delivery, and communicate directly with you as the data subject. For the evaluation of our services, FTL may engage a third party. Participation in such evaluations and providing personal data for this purpose is at your discretion.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

FTL processes personal data only if at least one of the following conditions is met:

a) The data subject has given consent for the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes;


b) Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, or to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract;


c) Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject;

e) Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller;


f) Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller or a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, particularly when the data subject is a child.


4. Purpose of Processing Personal Data

FTL processes personal data solely for the following purposes:

  • Providing legal services, including the execution of a contract and conducting (judicial) proceedings;
  • Collecting invoices;
  • Advising, mediating, and referring;
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations;
  • Recruitment and selection (job applications).


5. Processed Personal Data

FTL processes personal data provided by you as a job applicant, (potential) client, partner, supplier, or opposing party. FTL may also process personal data not provided by you but necessary to establish, exercise, or substantiate a legal claim. Only data that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the specified purposes is processed. FTL does not use the received personal data for purposes other than those for which it was obtained.

The following personal data is processed:

  • Contact details and other information necessary for handling your case;
  • Contact details provided during acquisition conversations, introductions, seminars, and other events;
  • Personal data obtained from public sources, the Chamber of Commerce Trade Register, or the Land Registry;
  • Personal data in connection with job applications, such as your contact details, date of birth, nationality, marital status, and other information included in or accompanying your application.

Contact details include:

  • First and last name;
  • Address details;
  • Phone number;
  • Email address;
  • BSN (Citizen Service Number);
  • Gender;
  • Nationality.


6. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

FTL processes the aforementioned personal data exclusively on the following legal bases, as referred to in Article 6 of the GDPR:

Legitimate interest.

Legal obligation;

Performance of a contract;

Consent obtained from the data subject(s);



7. Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties

FTL shares personal data with third parties only as necessary for service provision, in line with the stated purposes. This includes, for example, practice observation by another lawyer, conducting expert investigations, or engaging a third party on behalf of and under the instruction of FTL, such as an IT supplier. Additionally, personal data may be shared in connection with (judicial) proceedings or correspondence with an opposing party.

FTL may also provide personal data to third parties, such as a regulator or public authority, when legally required.

When a third party processes personal data on behalf of FTL, a data processing agreement ensures compliance with the GDPR. Third parties engaged by FTL who act as data controllers themselves are responsible for their own compliance with the GDPR. Examples include accountants, notaries, or other third parties.


8. Data Security

FTL values the security and protection of personal data and implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure an appropriate level of security. Access to the data is limited to a small group of authorized individuals.

FTL retains processed personal data no longer than necessary for the stated purposes or as required by law.


10. Privacy Rights of Data Subjects

Requests for access, correction, restriction, objection, data portability, deletion of your personal data, or withdrawal of previously given consent can be sent to the contact details below. You will receive a response within four weeks.

In some cases, FTL may not fully comply with your request, such as due to legal retention obligations or attorney confidentiality.

To verify your identity, please include a copy of a valid ID with the photo and BSN number blacked out. FTL only processes requests related to your own personal data.


11. Social Media Use

The Website includes buttons and/or links for promoting or sharing web pages on social media networks or third-party websites, such as X, LinkedIn, or Facebook. FTL is not responsible for how these third parties process your personal data. Use of these platforms is at your own risk, and it is advisable to read their privacy statements beforehand.

FTL tracks website usage data for statistical purposes. The collected data is anonymous and not sold to third parties.
